The 2009 InternationalStudent.com Video Contest closed on Friday, amid a flurry of last-minute entries. We've been busy getting the best 40 or so videos online, in between laughing fits on some of the funnier entries! So check our contest page to see them all, you will see an amazing variety of creative, funny, artistic and moving films. We'll be watching and re-watching all of them, to narrow down the list to the finalists. Continue to check back - by the end of the week we should have the finalists posted on our site. Giving Business Education a Global Twist (from the NY Times) June of next year will be a big month for Nabeel Siddiqui, a 29-year-old from India studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. That is when Mr. Siddiqui, a former software-design project manager for Alcatel-Lucent, expects to receive two diplomas almost simultaneously. One will be a master’s of science in management studies from M.I.T.’s Sloan School of Management, the other a master’s of business administration from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales in Paris. Whether you are a student who is in the USA for a few weeks or maybe longer term for a semester or two, you will most likely want to get a cell phone to keep in touch with friends and family. Of course, you can use your phone from home - but this will be extremely expensive with all the roaming charges! One way to keep your phone but avoid roaming charges is to get a prepaid T-Mobile sim card that you can simply insert into your current phone and have the benefits of a local US number. You will only pay local rates to send or receive a call and it's a sure fire way to avoid expensive international roaming costs.
